The Definition of Quality
Our Heritage of Quality
The Latin word qualitas, from which “quality” is derived, originated over 2,700 years ago.
Qualitas Packaging traces its roots to a 1987 Wall Street meeting where founder Russell Spivey met Don Lee, Marty Vogel, and Jerry Kay to discuss acquiring Brockway Standard. This led to the creation of Lee Container in 1989.
Mr. Spivey left Wall Street to join Lee Container at its inception and played a pivotal role in establishing Fluoro-Seal’s first in-house fluorination facility. This breakthrough enabled both Lee Container and Fluoro-Seal to enter and eventually lead the crop protection packaging sector for four decades.
Relentless focus on quality, combined with strategic multi-plant geographic expansion, drove Lee Container’s rapid growth, culminating in its $300 million acquisition by Greif in 2022.
A 36-year legacy of delivering superior industrial packaging defines Qualitas Packaging today—and defines who we will be in the future.
